Tenuta Il Gelso ( Il Gelso>> Italian for Mulberry tree is the name chosen by the owners Gabriella and Michael Blampied for their home in Umbria) . An Original 15th century stone built group of farm buildings have been restored and re- modelled to provide two quite separate villas. “Il Gelso” and “Le Terrazze”. Fencing and tree planting has been provided on the boundary between the two gardens. And the driveway after the entrance gates divides to the covered and open parking areas for each villa. They both have a garden of some 2 acres . with irrigated lawns, shrubs and flower beds . The remaining land holding at Tenuta Il Gelso is planted with mature olive trees which provide an abundant supply of oil. The land extends to woodland on the high ground above the olive groves, and looks over farm land which has been let or sold. In all directions there are un-spoilt views across farmland with the Umbrian hills in the distance. There is a beautiful view of Todi to the North. Guests are assured of a peaceful and tranquil setting far from any traffic noise. ..Key collection for le Terrazze and for the villa La Torricella is from the Iron Entrance Gates at Tenuta Il Gelso .

The Guest Cottage. Sleeps 2 ( possibly plus 2 young children with their parents on the sofa bed in the Sitting room.). Unlike the villas , the Owners cottage for guests faces North and has a superb view of TODI from the picture window.. It is often unoccupied but is available for guests who are staying either at Le Terrazze or at the owners home The private patio of the cottage has a gate through the fence dividing the gardens.

Le Terrazze – Sleeps 10/11—(15 with the Cottage) The villa is furnished as a home from home – Gabriella has organised and designed the very welcoming feeling of the villa which is so much admired, including some lovely antiques and a 4 poster bed. The accommodation of some 300 sq metres is very spacious, having a large sitting room, separate dining room open to a fully equipped kitchen and 5 bedrooms each with en-suite 2 of which are very large and have French doors on to the terraces – There are alternative dining tables on the terraces as well as internally for seating 10 and up to 14 – The villa is ideal for families or friends holidaying together or for an anniversary occasion when the cottage can be added to the accommodation. —N-B- the 10/11 indicates that an extra single bed can be arranged (on request)) for a guest who is staying for a few days using the extra shower facility, oran extra bed can be placed in one of the 2 very large bedrooms ---Baby cots and high chairs are available without counting for bed spaces

Il Gelso---Sleeps 10 - 4 bedrooms are in the villa and one in the cottage or pool house all with en-suite-- (click on availability in July and August only) --A very special and much admired feature of the owners home are the beautiful gardens,>> The master bedroom is exceptionally large . It was in fact the original living room for the family The huge open fireplace and the outside staircase to this room has been retained although no longer in use . The same features have been retained at Le Terrazze (The traditional Umbrian farm house provided the family living room and bedrooms on the e first floor and the lower floor was used for the farming, including cattle, poultry and storage Acces to the ground floor was from separate outside doors – This arrangement gave warmth to the upper floor and shelter for the animals. The outside “Al Fresco” dining area completed in 2007. and enlargement of the portico facing the pool has transformed and added to the enjoyment of the gardens.

La Torricella Sleeps 10/11 The road from Todi to Torre Gentile passes the little village of Ponte Naia with it’s shop and bar (open all day including Saturday till late, which is a great convenience ) It winds along the valley passing the lane for La Torricella after 2 kms and a firther 2 kms takes you to Il Gelso for key collection .The superb view of TODI from La Torricella is a much admired feature of the villa., as well as the many alternative places for quietly reading and relaxing –The irrigated lawns provide for games such as badminton. For bedroom arrangement see floor plans (3 bedrooms are en-suite. The remaining 2 bedrooms in the tower share a facility with large shower ) The country lane to La Torricella is about 1 km from the main road and leads on a further km to the very well established paddock and riding school

The owners personalised hand book gives details for local shopping There are 5 super markets in or near Todi including the co-op ADDITIONAL SERVICES introduced by the owner are paid directly by the guests after introduction.. These services include Holistic massage, Horse Riding and Cooking . For the cooking service a full menu is available . A 3 course meal can be arranged for the day of arrival, and after by direct contact with the cook—An extremely popular service
